Essential Websites For Music Producers

Essential Websites For Music Producers

Here's a load of really useful websites that you'll probably want to save in your favorites. Everything you could need as a producer from equipment and software to midis and remix packs.

If you know of any good websites we've missed, feel free to add your own in the comments. Please only add legit websites, no dodgy torrent or illegal filesharing sites :p

Loopmasters

Loopmasters Home

Royalty-free Sample packs, Soundbanks, Remix packs and loads more cool stuff. There's nothing specifically for Makina music but there's plenty of packs for Hardcore, Hard Dance, Trance and similar genres so there's definitely sounds that would work well if you fancy getting creative and thinking outside the box. There's loads of Rawstyle, Frenchcore and Hardstyle sounds too if you're into that sort of thing.

All the vocals on the site are royalty-free so you can release them in your tracks for sale without any copyright issues! There's hip hop raps, acapellas, vocal chop loops and more, all with audio previews so you can have a listen and see what you like. You earn reward points from buying packs too so you can get money off your next purchases or even free packs if you save enough points.

Also when you register you get 1GB of FREE SAMPLES & LOOPS!

DJ Kit

If you need anything for your studio these guys have everything from Speakers, Microphones and Midi Keyboards to Software and Synthesizers. What really sets these apart from any other DJ equipment website is their 0% finance option and unbelievable delivery speed. I recently bought a Pioneer DDJ-SX2 controller online at 4pm and it arrived by 11.30am the next morning!

The 0% finance option allows you to get anything you need with just a 10% deposit and pay the rest over 12 months with 0% interest, or you can spread the cost over 24 or 36 months if you don't mind paying interest to make the monthly payments lower.

Remix Packs.ru

Probably the best website for official remix packs with top quality vocals and wav stems. Thousands of remix packs for free download including loads of well known dance and pop tracks. There's also loads of official remix competitions with cash prizes or releases on major record labels.

Chordify

Want to remix something but can't find the midi's? Chordify can find you the chords from any song for free by simply uploading the mp3 or using a YouTube link! If you pay for a premium account you get some extra features including being able to download the midis but even with a free account you can see the chords and copy them into your software one chord at a time.

Free VST Plugins

The well known VST plugins can be expensive and if you're new to producing you probably don't want to fork out hundreds or thousands of pounds for software that you don't even know how to use yet. Here's some really great websites full of free VST instruments and effects. Even if you're an experienced producer with all the popular VST's, it's always good to experiment with new things and you'd be surprised at just how good some of these free plugins are.

Facebook Link Fixer

If you've ever uploaded to Soundcloud or YouTube and then tried sharing it to Facebook and the image doesn't show up properly, this is the thing you need to fix it. You just need to paste your link, press 'Debug' and then hit the 'Scrape again' button. Sometimes you need to press the button a few times but you should see the picture update and then your link will be working correctly!

Adobe Creative Cloud

If you want to stand out and succeed as an artist in today's music scene it's a good idea have professional artwork and video clips that will catch people's attention. Cheap looking artwork is going to put people off listening to your music and with the amount of new music getting uploaded and posted on social media every day, you need to make yours stand out from the crowd. First impressions are everything so make sure your visuals are on point!

If you don't want to hire a professional designer and pay for all your design work you might want to learn some design skills and give it a go yourself.

It doesn't take long to learn the basics of Photoshop and video editing software if you can invest a few hours in watching YouTube tutorials. It will save you a load of time and money in the long run and give you the creative freedom to make your designs exactly the way you want them.

If you use Facebook as a platform for sharing your music I'd highly recommend considering video clips to promote your music as people can watch them without having to leave Facebook. The Soundcloud App doesn't always work well on mobile devices so people are much more likely to play a video, even if the video is just your track artwork with the track audio (It doesn't need to be anything fancy!).

The Adobe Creative Cloud has programs for absolutely any design job you would want to do from logos and track artwork to video editing, animation, 3D modelling, web design, printing and much more!

You can get Photoshop for just £9.98 a month or all 20+ programs for £49.94 a month. If you consider the fact that a professional logo will probably cost you £50 or more, this is a really good deal and if you take the time to learn how to use them you'll be amazed at the results you can achieve. I signed up for the full Adobe package a few years ago and can honestly say they're worth every penny.
